Welcome to LifeReel. By using LifeReel, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Who can use LifeReel
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to create an account and publish stories.
2. Your account
You sign in with your Google account. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the stories and videos you publish. By publishing, you give LifeReel permission to store, display and stream that content on the site so that other people can view it. You can delete your own stories at any time.
You confirm that you own the content you publish or have permission to share it, and that anyone who can be identified in it has agreed to appear.
4. What is not allowed
You must not publish content that:
- is illegal, or encourages illegal activity;
- harasses, threatens, bullies or promotes hatred against anyone;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualises minors in any way;
- shows graphic violence or encourages self-harm;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
- shares another person's private information without their consent;
- is spam, a scam, or contains malware.
5. Reporting and removal
You can report any story using the Report button. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms, with or without notice.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Payments are processed by Paystack. Prices are shown on the Plans page in Naira before you pay.
- Viewer subscription: gives access to the full text and video of every story while it is active.
- Creator plan: required to publish stories.
- Both plans renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the Plans page; your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or where we decide to refund at our discretion.
7. Creator earnings
Each month, 40% of the viewer subscription revenue LifeReel receives for that month, after payment processing fees, is shared between creators in proportion to how long subscribers watched or read their stories. LifeReel keeps the remaining 60%. Creator plan fees are not shared.
- Your own viewing of your stories, and the admin's viewing, does not count.
- Earnings are calculated after each month ends and paid to the Nigerian bank account you add on the Earnings page once your balance reaches ₦1,000. Smaller balances roll over to the next month.
- We may withhold or reverse earnings from fake or artificially inflated views, or from content removed for breaking these terms.
- You are responsible for any taxes due on your earnings.
8. No guarantees
LifeReel is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will always be available or error-free, and stories reflect the views of their authors, not LifeReel. To the extent the law allows, LifeReel is not liable for losses arising from your use of the site.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use LifeReel after a change means you accept the updated terms.
